An intensely aromatic wine, made from mature and low yielding vines using minimal intervention organic farming practices at Quinta de Assares. The Assares vineyard in the Vilariça valley was granted organic certification in 2006. Just 43,000 bottles of Altano red wine of unique character were produced from these organically farmed grapes at the 2007 harvest. Made by the Symington family, wine producers in the Douro since the 19th Century.
